Scammers pretending to be the police asking people for money

Dear Residents,

Recently it has come to our notice that scammers pretending to be from the Police have been calling people to send/give them money.

Unfortunately, some people have become victim of such fraud and lost money.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THE POLICE WOULD NEVER ASK YOU FOR MONEY.

If you are meeting someone in person, claiming to be from the police, ask them to show their warrant card. If still in doubt, ask the person for their name and badge number and contact the police on 999 or 101 to confirm the details.

If you are on the phone with someone claiming to be from the police, hang up and contact the police on 999 or 101.

Once again, please be advised that police would never ask you for money.
